euro 6d standards Page 9

Euro 6d is the EU’s tightened final form of Euro 6, combining WLTP lab testing with real‑world RDE checks to clamp down on NOx and particulates.

In plain Aussie: if a modern petrol or diesel claims Euro 6d, it’s cleaner on the road, not just in a cosy lab.

Carmakers hit the targets with tech like GPF/DPF, SCR (AdBlue) and smarter engine mapping, so there’s less nastiness out the tailpipe.

Australia doesn’t copy the EU rulebook word‑for‑word, but plenty of new models here meet Euro 6/6d anyway—check your compliance plate and local approval notes.

Upshot: cleaner air, potential city access perks overseas, and a touch more maintenance fuss (hello AdBlue and soot filters).

If you need the legal minutiae, consult the manufacturer’s official type‑approval data.
