EV charging speeds hinge on two things: the charger’s output and your car’s own limit.
At home, 2.4 kW (10A) adds about 8–12 km/h, 7 kW roughly 30–45 km/h, and 11 kW around 50–70 km/h; on the road, 50 kW DC delivers ~250–300 km/h, while 150 kW+ can touch 600–900 km/h when the battery is low, and 350 kW only helps cars that support it.
Speeds taper hard past 60–80% charge, and cold batteries, shared sites, or limp cables will slow the party; your car’s cap—often 7–11 kW AC and 100–250 kW DC—is usually the bottleneck.
