Ah, 'fair wear and tear' in Queensland—because your car isn’t a museum piece, it’s a daily warrior. Essentially, it means the reasonable deterioration that happens under normal use, not the carnage from reckless abandon. Expect minor scratches, small stone chips, and some interior scuffs to be part of the game. However, deep dents, broken parts, or neglect won’t be so kindly judged.

Queensland's rental and lease agreements often clarify what counts as fair wear and tear, but if you're buying or selling, it’s wise to check the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) guidelines and relevant consumer laws. For vehicles, the standard is similar: normal usage marks are acceptable, but damage beyond that can hit your wallet hard.

For detailed cases or disputes, consulting ServiceCentral or legal advice might save you from a nasty surprise. Remember, 'fair' is subjective, but your bank balance isn't.
