falcon models australia

Australia’s Ford Falcon ran from 1960 to 2016, covering enough alphabet soup to feed a footy club.

Early classics: XK–XY (’60s to ’71), then XA–XC (’72–’79) with proper V8 swagger.

The square-shouldered XD–XF (’79–’88) ushered in the ’80s, followed by EA–EL (’88–’98) that kept taxis and families humming.

AU (’98–’02) split opinions on styling but delivered quick XR variants; BA/BF (’02–’08) brought the golden era with Barra turbo XR6, XR8 and FPV GT.

FG and FG X (’08–’16) signed off with refined Barra turbos, G6E Turbo luxury, and the last XR8 V8 howl.

Shopping tip: XR6 Turbo and FPV cars are the enthusiast favourites, while base and ex-fleet models make thrifty interstate cruisers.
