family tesla Page 2

Hunting a family Tesla? You’re basically weighing a Model Y against a used Model X (new Xs aren’t sold here at the moment).

Model Y pros and cons:

• Pros: roomy cabin and boot, five-star ANCAP, easier to park, far cheaper to buy and run
• Cons: five seats only in Australia, firmer ride, fewer luxe toys

Model X pros and cons:

• Pros: six- or seven-seat layouts available, huge cargo space, comfy air suspension, solid towing
• Cons: pricey to buy and insure, falcon doors can be fussy, limited local support since RHD was discontinued

Each suits a different brief—pick based on seat count, budget, and how much you enjoy car parks; test-fit the child seats and prams to be sure.
