female v8 supercar driver

Yes—female drivers have raced in Australia’s Supercars Championship. The standout is Simona de Silvestro, who raced full-time from 2017–2019, the first woman to do so in the modern era. She also teamed with Renee Gracie for the “Harvey Norman Supergirls” Bathurst 1000 wildcards in 2015–2016. Leanne Tander has competed in the development series and remains a prominent figure in Aussie motorsport. The grid’s still more blokey than a Bunnings sausage sizzle, but the stopwatch is gloriously impartial. Keep an eye on wildcards and feeder series—the talent pipeline is warming up.
