finke race 2023 Page 4

The 2023 Finke Desert Race is Australia’s wildest desert dash, a there-and-back blast between Alice Springs and Aputula (Finke) that treats suspension like a suggestion. Run over the King’s Birthday long weekend in June, it’s roughly ~226 km each way across whoops, sand and bulldust.

You’ll see bikes, buggies, trophy trucks and quads hammering along, with the quickest cars touching 200+ km/h on the smoother stretches because physics took a smoko. Spectators camp along the track, the vibe is part festival, part moon mission, and planning (fuel, water, patience) is non-negotiable if you enjoy not suffering.
