fixed price service Page 31

Fixed price servicing—often called capped-price servicing—locks in the cost of scheduled logbook maintenance for a set time or kilometres.

You pay predetermined amounts at each service interval, covering routine items only; it won’t pick up wear-and-tear like brake pads, tyres, wipers, or any “surprise” repairs.

Pros: predictable budgeting, genuine parts, dealer stamps; cons: typically dealer-network only, not always the cheapest, and some schemes are merely capped (prices can be indexed) rather than truly fixed.

In Australia, you can service at a qualified independent without voiding warranty if they use appropriate parts and follow the logbook—just don’t expect the capped-price deal to apply.
