ford ranger 2023 problems australia Page 2

The 2023 Ford Ranger in Australia is a tough unit, but early owners have reported a few gremlins worth checking.

• SYNC 4A infotainment hiccups (freezes, camera black screen) that usually clear with over‑the‑air or dealer software updates.
• Driver-assist quirks—lane-keeping ping‑pong or adaptive cruise hesitation—often fixed by calibration and software patches.
• 10‑speed auto shift fidgets or low‑speed clunks on some utes; updated transmission software smooths most of it.
• Frequent DPF regens if you do short trips; longer runs or dealer attention help.
• Brake shudder after heavy towing/off‑road use; check discs/pads and torque settings.
• Dust or water sneaking into the tub via tailgate gaps; seals and adjustments are common cures.
• Minor trim rattles or panel alignment niggles; dealers have TSBs to sort them.

On a test drive, cold‑start it, cycle every camera and sensor, and do a decent highway run to flush out any ADAS, DPF or shifting oddities.

Most issues are nuisance-grade and addressed by service bulletins; keep software current and document fixes under warranty.
