ford ranger xls vs xlt 2023 Page 2

Choosing between the 2023 Ford Ranger XLS and XLT? Think of the XLS as the honest work boots and the XLT as the same boots with fancy laces and a nicer insole.

The XLS usually brings the basics you need for towing and tradie duty, while the XLT layers on extra comfort, tech, and shine without changing the fundamental toughness.

Pros and cons:

• XLS pros: Lower price, simpler kit, often cheaper to insure; still gets the essentials for 3,500 kg towing and payload pragmatism.
• XLS cons: Fewer luxury touches, smaller wheels/lighting, and the stronger bi-turbo/10‑speed combo may be optional or unavailable depending on spec.
• XLT pros: More tech (bigger screen, extra driver aids), nicer cabin trims, LED lighting and larger wheels; bi‑turbo/10‑speed commonly fitted.
• XLT cons: Higher purchase price, more stuff to scratch or replace, and often heavier on tyres and accessories.

Pick the one that matches your weekdays, not your weekend ego; either way, check the exact local spec sheet and tow/payload stickers, then consult official documentation for exact figures.
