ford territory not starting Page 2

Ford Territory not starting? Don’t panic—these wagons are tough, but a few usual suspects love a drama.

• Battery or terminals: if it’s click-click or dead lights, check for around 12.6 V, clean the clamps, and don’t ignore a crusty earth strap.
• Starter/relays and the gear selector switch: try starting in Neutral and jiggle the shifter; lazy solenoids and dodgy relays are common villains.
• Crank angle sensor or fuel supply: Barra petrols often blame the crank sensor; SZ diesels can sulk with low rail pressure or a tired pump—listen for the prime.
• Immobiliser/key: security light going berserk? Try the spare key and a battery reset before you rage-order a new ECU.

If it still won’t play, get a scan for codes and a proper load test—an auto sparky via ServiceCentral beats guesswork and YouTube bravado every time.
