Pop the VIN into the FordPass app or check the vehicle’s settings for “FordPass Connect” — if it’s there, you’re in; if it only shows SYNC 3/AppLink, remote lock/unlock and start won’t work.
A dealer can confirm by VIN, and no, retrofitting isn’t officially supported, no matter what your mate with a soldering iron promises.
