The Gen 3 Mustang Supercars weapon is Ford’s snarling take on the new regs—leaner, louder, and far closer to a road‑car silhouette than the old winged bricks.
Under the bonnet sits a ~5.4‑litre naturally aspirated DOHC V8 based on the Coyote, tuned to around ~447 kW (≈600 hp) and ~650 Nm, running a control ethanol‑blend fuel.
It drives the rear wheels via a 6‑speed sequential transaxle, rides on 18‑inch Dunlop control tyres, and weighs about ~1340 kg minimum, with aero pared back versus Gen2 for closer racing.
Think less spaceship, more brawler—still properly rapid at Bathurst with top speeds around ~300 km/h, but built to trade paint without the aero sook.
