Chasing a good handheld vacuum for car crumbs and couch chaos? Aim for strong suction, a motorised mini brush for pet hair, and a real-world runtime of about 10–20 minutes; keep weight around 1.5 kg so your wrist doesn’t go on strike.
Brands to shortlist: Dyson V7 Trigger for punchy pickup, Shark WandVac for quick grabs, Black+Decker Pivot for awkward spots, and Ryobi/AEG skins if you already own the batteries. New units usually sit around AUD $70–$350, with used bargains from roughly $30–$150 if the battery isn’t cactus. Look for a crevice tool and a charging stand; replace filters and check for blockages before declaring it deceased. Buy what you’ll actually use, not what looks fastest on Instagram.
