gran tourismo movie

Gran Turismo (2023) is the based-on-a-true-story racing flick where a PlayStation sim racer, Jann Mardenborough, swaps pixels for podiums via Nissan’s GT Academy.

Directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, and Orlando Bloom, it blends esports wish-fulfilment with proper motorsport grit.

The track action is well-shot, the stakes are high, and yes, there’s enough engine noise to drown out a family of kookaburras.

Is it Shakespeare? No—but as feel-good racing cinema in surround sound, it’ll do the job nicely with a bucket of popcorn and a bit of throttle-blip fantasy.
