gtr meaning car Page 8751

In car-speak, GTR usually means Gran Turismo Racing—think grand-touring coupe given a gym membership and a bad attitude. The “GT” bit is “Grand Tourer,” built for long fast trips; the “R” is the racy one, not “Really fast,” even if it fits. Different brands play it their way, but badges like Nissan’s GT‑R use it to signal a track-honed flagship. Translation: fewer cupholders, more lap times, and a soundtrack that makes neighbours reconsider moving.
