Short version: the GU Patrol wagon (Y61, late ’90s to 2016) uses top‑tether anchor points for child seats, and it does not have ISOFIX.
Those anchorages are typically just behind the second row on the cargo floor or rear interior, often hiding under little plastic caps or marked tabs—run the tether over the seatback to them.
The third-row side-fold jump seats aren’t approved for child restraints, and ute/cab‑chassis Patrols generally lack factory anchor points.
Earlier series may need a genuine or approved retrofit kit, so check the owner’s manual, the ADR tag near the mount, and your build plate.
Fit the seat with an Australian Standard top tether, use the correct bolt and bracket, and if in doubt let an accredited child‑restraint fitter do the honours.
It’s not glamorous, but neither is explaining to a cop why your baby seat’s attached to a luggage hook.
