gumtree vs carsales Page 2

Choosing between Gumtree and Carsales is like picking a Bunnings snag or a fancy degustation—both feed you, wildly different vibe.

Gumtree pros: cheap or free basic listings, massive general audience, quick to post; cons: more tyre-kickers, patchy listing quality, fewer car-specific tools and pricing guidance.

Carsales pros: car-focused buyers, structured listings, strong search/valuation tools; cons: higher fees, heavier competition, buyers who comparison-shop hard.

Dealers tend to favour Carsales for reach and polish, while budget-minded private sellers often start on Gumtree and upgrade if crickets.

Whichever platform you choose, sharp photos, full service history and a realistic price will do more heavy lifting than any logo.
