gwm ute vs ldv t60 Page 124

Two value utes walk into a worksite—your wallet cheers, your scepticism coughs politely.

GWM Ute (Cannon)

• Pros: Loads of safety kit (AEB, adaptive cruise on many grades), comfy cabin, sharp pricing, long warranty.
• Cons: 2.0‑L diesel feels adequate rather than brisk; ride can fidget unladen; 3,000 kg braked tow trails the 3.5‑ton crowd.

LDV T60 (Max)

• Pros: Strong 2.0‑L bi‑turbo (up to 160 kW/500 Nm), keen drive‑away deals, decent tray space and payload.
• Cons: Older safety rating and fewer driver aids on some trims; cabin finish is workmanlike; ride can run firm.

Both will haul weekend projects and chew through highway kays; test drive, compare dealer support and servicing costs, and pick what fits your use case—not just your budget.
