Harry Firth—nicknamed “The Fox”—was the cunning mastermind of Australian touring car racing, equal parts driver, engineer and team boss. He ran Ford’s works effort, then created and led the Holden Dealer Team, shaping Bathurst folklore in the process. Firth helped launch talents like Peter Brock and Colin Bond, proving that sharp prep beats brute horsepower more often than not. If a scrutineer raised an eyebrow in the ’60s or ’70s, odds are Harry had already thought three moves ahead.
