Yes—Hertz has been selling off a big chunk of its electric fleet, chiefly Teslas, after discovering repair costs and depreciation bite harder than expected.

In 2024 they announced roughly 20,000 EVs would be de-fleeted, with many listed through Hertz’s sales and auction channels, largely in the US.

They’re still renting EVs, just fewer of them, while the clearance sale thins the herd.

In Australia, ex-rental EVs often surface via auctions and mainstream classifieds—keep an eye on local listings (Tradingpost isn’t a silly place to start).
