high-powered vehicle list qld Page 93

Hunting the high-powered vehicle list for QLD? The Department of Transport and Main Roads doesn’t hand out a pretty poster; it runs an official checker that decides if a car is “high-powered” for P-platers based on power-to-weight, forced induction, and any mods. If you’ve got a rego, VIN, or exact model/year, plug it into the checker and ignore the bloke at the servo who “reckons.” In general, punchy power-to-weight and boost land you in the naughty corner, while milder variants and certain exceptions squeak by. Think it’s misclassified? There’s an exemption process—but bring evidence. Bottom line: verify each specific car with the TMR tool before you buy or drive.
