Looking for the "Highway Code" in Australia? We call it the Australian Road Rules, a national model law adopted by each state and territory, each with a few local quirks.

Headliners: default urban limits are often 50 km/h unless signed; motorways and open roads are signed 100–110 km/h; school zones drop (often to 40 km/h) at set times. Full-licence BAC is 0.05, while learners and P-platers are zero; phones must be hands-free for full licences and totally off-limits for L/P. At roundabouts, give way to traffic already in and signal your exit; at T-intersections, the terminating road gives way; on multi-lane roads, keep left unless overtaking.
