hilux service schedule Page 11

For most Australian HiLux models, Toyota specifies servicing every 6 months or 10,000 km (whichever comes first)—yes, twice a year if you’re racking up kays. Expect larger checks roughly every 40,000 km, with diffs/transfer case oils inspected and replaced as required, especially if you tow or play in the rough stuff. Brake fluid is typically every 24 months, diesel fuel filters are commonly done around 40,000 km, and air filters as needed depending on dust and use. Older 3.0 D-4D (1KD) diesels use a timing belt due around 150,000 km, while newer 2.8 (1GD) diesels run a timing chain. Always follow your logbook and VIN-specific schedule; Toyota often provides capped-price servicing for the early years, which helps the wallet behave. Consult official documentation for exact figures.
