hilux towing capacity 2022 Page 5

For a 2022 Toyota HiLux, towing capacity depends on the variant, but the headline numbers are familiar.

Braked up to 3,500 kg on most 4x4 2.8‑litre diesel models; many 4x2 variants are 2,500–2,800 kg. Unbraked is 750 kg across the range.

Tow‑ball download is typically around 350 kg, and you must watch GVM/GCM because a big trailer can savage payload quicker than a tradie demolishes a sausage roll.

Transmission, cab style and suspension tune can tweak the figures, so always check the specific placard and owner’s manual before hitching up.

Consult official documentation for exact figures.
