holden car factory australia Page 8982

Yes, Australia had a Holden car factory—several, in fact. The last big one was in Elizabeth, South Australia, where the final locally built Holden rolled off the line on 20 October 2017. Earlier plants operated at Dandenong (VIC), Pagewood (NSW), Woodville (SA), and engines/engineering at Fishermans Bend (VIC). After 2017, Holden shifted to imports, and General Motors retired the Holden brand in 2020. A proud chapter, sadly closed—like a pub at 10:59 pm when you’re still at the bar.
