holden colorado torque converter replacement Page 5

Replacing a Holden Colorado torque converter isn’t a quick cuppa; it’s gearbox-out territory. In Australia, expect about $1,800–$3,200 AUD all-in for an exchange converter, new fluid and labour; stubborn fasteners or leftover debris can push it higher.

The converter itself is usually $600–$1,200, with 6–10 hours labour at local rates, and a proper flush of the cooler is non-negotiable unless you enjoy repeat visits.

If the transmission has worn clutches or metal confetti, a rebuild with converter can jump to $3,500–$6,500+; at that point, get a second quote from a transmission specialist.

Symptom cheat-sheet: shudder under light throttle, odd stall speed, and slip codes—if that sounds familiar, stop towing the caravan and book it before it toasts the lot.
