holden commodore dash warning lights Page 7

If your Holden Commodore’s dash lights up like a poker machine, the colour code is your first clue.

Red icons (oil pressure, coolant temperature, battery/charging) mean stop as soon as it’s safe—low oil pressure or overheating will turn the engine into shrapnel faster than you can say “tow truck.”

Amber lights (check engine, ABS, ESC/traction, and TPMS where fitted) flag faults that usually let you drive gently while you book a scan and repair.

A solid check engine light often means emissions or sensor gremlins; a flashing one screams misfire—back off and get it checked before the catalytic converters cook.

An SRS/airbag warning means a safety system isn’t ready to save you, so treat it seriously even if the car feels fine.

When in doubt, open the owner’s manual for the exact symbol, and if any red light stays on, pull over, switch off, and call roadside assistance rather than gambling with your motor.
