holden frontera review

The Holden Frontera is old-school 4x4 charm: tough, boxy, and about as subtle as a Bunnings snag. Based on Isuzu hardware with a ladder frame, it’ll cop dirt tracks and camping runs without demanding a scented candle, but it’s thirsty and feels every bit its age on tarmac. The cabin is practical yet dated, safety is modest by modern standards, and the ride can be more jiggle than jig-saw. Parts availability is decent thanks to the Isuzu connection, but buy on condition: check 4WD engagement, cooling system health, suspension bushes, and a thorough service history. If you want a cheap, honest weekend bush-basher, it’s a goer; if you want plush, quiet and frugal, look elsewhere. Price it keenly, keep expectations realistic, and it’ll do the job with a muddy grin.
