how long do you hold your red p's for qld Page 3044

In Queensland you hold your red P's (P1) for 12 months before you can move up to green P's (P2).

If you're 25 or over, you usually skip the red P's altogether and go straight to a P2 for about 12 months instead—perk of being a grown-up, besides back pain.

Any suspensions, disqualifications, or failure to complete the Hazard Perception Test will pause or extend that timeline, because consequences are a thing.

Keep it tidy for a year, pass what needs passing, and you’ll swap red for green with far less drama than your first hill start.
