In Queensland, a roadworthy certificate—officially called a safety certificate—is valid for two months from the date of issue. It’s your golden ticket to transferring ownership or registering a vehicle, so don’t dilly-dally. If you’re planning to sell or register, make sure you use it before it expires, or you'll have to get a new inspection, which means more cash out of your pocket.
Remember, this isn't some magical, perpetual license: the vehicle's condition can change, so inspectors want to keep tabs on it regularly. For buying or selling, check out listings on Tradingpost or CarShowroom to see what’s currently certified.
