A Victorian roadworthy certificate, also known as a Certificate of Roadworthiness (RWC), doesn't come with an expiry date stamped on it like milk. Instead, it's typically valid at the point of sale or registration transfer, and its usefulness expires once ownership changes or after 30 days if the vehicle isn’t transferred. So, if you're planning to flog your car or register it, get it done fresh; old RWCs are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Remember, the RWC only confirms the vehicle was roadworthy at the time of inspection, so ongoing maintenance is your responsibility.
