how long does servicing a car take Page 32

Most routine car services in Australia take about 1–2 hours, the sort you can power through with a flat white and a doom-scroll.

A logbook service typically runs 2–3 hours, while a major service with plugs, fluids, and inspections can stretch to 3–5 hours. Dealers often ask for a drop‑off “for the day” to cover road tests, parts runs, and the mysterious art of waiting. Add time if diagnostics, brakes, or tyres join the party. Book early, ask for an estimate, and if you’re keen to keep moving, angle for a courtesy car or a lift—no harm in a polite nudge.
