how many points for speeding qld Page 22

In Queensland, demerit points for speeding scale up with how far over the limit you were.

Less than 13 km/h: 1 point; 13–20 km/h: 3 points; 21–30 km/h: 4 points; 31–40 km/h: 6 points; more than 40 km/h: 8 points and an immediate 6‑month licence suspension.

Rack up 12 points in a 3‑year period on an open licence and you’ll face sanctions, while learners and provisional drivers have lower thresholds.

Repeat offenders can also cop double demerit points for the same offence within 12 months—so déjà vu gets expensive.

Yes, the needle felt heroic; your points tally won’t.
