In Queensland, a caravan is registered as a trailer, so the cost isn’t one-size-fits-all.
You’ll pay a registration fee plus a traffic improvement/administration fee (and a number plate fee the first time); there’s no separate CTP insurance for trailers as they’re covered by the towing vehicle.
Six or twelve months is your choice, and the figure depends on the caravan’s type and weight—most light caravans land at roughly “a few hundred dollars a year.”
If it’s heavier (over about 4.5 tonnes ATM) or you’re chasing concessions, the schedule changes.
Use the Queensland TMR fee calculator to get the exact damage before you rock up to the counter.
