how often pink slip

In NSW, a pink slip (eSafety check) is due every year when you renew rego—once your light vehicle is over five years old.

If it’s newer than that, you get a free pass for the first five; enjoy it while it lasts.

Book an authorised inspection, they poke and prod, and the result goes straight to Service NSW—no paper circus.

Special cases (like defect notices) can trigger inspections sooner, but for normal renewals it’s the annual ritual.
