In Victoria, to qualify for club registration (commonly known as club rego), your vehicle generally needs to be at least 30 years old. This scheme is designed for classic and historic vehicles, so it’s not your daily driver unless it’s really old and cherished. The vehicle must also be maintained in a condition that reflects its historic nature and not be used as a regular mode of transport. Owners must be members of an approved car club that has an agreement with VicRoads. This makes it cheaper and less bureaucratic than full registration, but with tight usage restrictions.
