how to get a moon boot Page 3

In Australia, the smart move is to be assessed by a GP, physio, or urgent care first, so you know you actually need a moon boot and how much weight-bearing is safe.

After that, you can buy one at pharmacies, physio clinics, medical suppliers, or online—no prescription usually required, but proper sizing and fitting matter.

Wear a long sock, seat your heel fully back, and tighten the straps snugly (two-finger rule) so your gait doesn’t resemble a wounded kangaroo.

Most sprains and minor fractures use adjustable walking boots; nastier injuries should stick to clinician-fitted gear with follow-up.

If pain escalates, there’s numbness, or your toes change colour, seek medical help rather than auditioning for a stoicism award.

Short version: get assessed, get the right size, and get clear instructions—your ankle will thank you far more than your ego.
