how to pass p test Page 9

Want to pass your P test without white-knuckling the steering wheel like it’s Bathurst? Start with calm, smooth driving: steady speed, early braking, no kangaroo hops on the clutch or throttle.

Do big, obvious head checks, mirror-scan like a meerkat, and indicate early—examiners love seeing you think ahead.

Nail the low-speed stuff: three-point turns, reverse park, hill starts, and proper gap selection at intersections.

Stick religiously to speed limits (especially school zones), stop fully at STOP signs, and give way by the book.

Keep space, spot hazards early, and don’t argue with the examiner; they’ve heard every excuse since Harold Holt.

Finally, practice the route style common in your state, keep your paperwork sorted, and turn up rested—confidence beats luck every time.
