how to sell an unregistered perth Page 10

Selling an unregistered car in Perth isn’t illegal; it’s just slightly more admin and absolutely no joy rides. Be upfront in your ad that it’s unregistered, include the VIN, engine number and a PPSR report so buyers know it’s not nicked or under finance. No test drives on public roads—use a trailer, or have the buyer arrange a permit to move an unregistered vehicle, otherwise it’s fines and tears. Write a solid bill of sale with buyer/seller details, VIN, price, date, and “sold unregistered, as-is”. Because there’s no current rego, there’s nothing to transfer; the buyer handles inspection, stamp duty and licensing after the sale in WA. Take secure payment (bank transfer or cash), hand over keys and paperwork, and enjoy not paying another renewal notice.
