how to stop android auto Page 3652

Had enough of Android Auto barging in like an over-eager road-trip DJ? Here’s how to make it sit quietly in the back seat.

• On your phone: open the Android Auto app > Settings, set Start Android Auto automatically to Never, and turn off Wireless Android Auto and Add new cars.
• To be ruthless: Settings > Apps > Android Auto > Disable (or Force stop), and revoke Bluetooth/USB permissions if shown.
• In the car: in the infotainment settings, switch off Android Auto/Phone Projection and Forget your phone.
• USB offenders: don’t plug in, or use a charge-only cable with no data pins.
• Per-car control: Android Auto > Connected cars > forget cars you don’t want to auto-start.

Now enjoy blissful silence while your phone sulks—like a teenager told to put the aux cord down.
