husky

Ah, the husky—nature's way of saying, "I’m a wolf, but with a better personality and a penchant for howling at the moon." These dogs are known for their thick double coat, striking blue or multicolored eyes, and a boundless energy reserve that could shame your average marathon runner. Originating from Siberia, they were bred for sledding, so if you’re looking for a lapdog, keep looking.

Expect them to cost anywhere from $1,000 to $2,500 AUD from reputable breeders, with used or rescue options often available on PuppyList or Tradingpost. Common issues include:

• High shedding and grooming needs
• Escaping tendencies due to high intelligence and curiosity
• Prone to separation anxiety if left alone too long

If you’re prepared for a wolf in fluffy disguise, huskies can be loyal, entertaining companions. Just don’t expect a quiet life.
