i30 active vs elite Page 5

Two trims, same sensible hatchback, different personalities. In Australia, the i30 Active is the value-focused entry, while the Elite turns the niceties and driver aids up a notch.

• i30 Active — Pros: Cheapest to buy and insure, often available with a manual or simple auto, and fewer gizmos to distract you from actually driving.
• i30 Active — Cons: Smaller wheels and a plainer cabin, fewer convenience features, and some advanced safety tech may be missing depending on model year.
• i30 Elite — Pros: Bigger infotainment with navigation and better audio on many years, extra active safety, smart key comforts, and a generally nicer cabin.
• i30 Elite — Cons: Higher price, usually auto-only, and larger wheels can firm up the ride while insurance can nudge upwards.

Pick based on your priorities—cheap and cheerful or nicer and techier—then check the exact spec sheet for the year you’re eyeing.
