The Isuzu D-Max interior has gone from hose-out tradie den to something you can drive your mum to brunch in without apologies.

Higher trims score a big touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and a decent stereo, while base models stick to tough cloth and hard-wearing plastics.

Seats are firm and supportive, storage nooks abound, and the dual-cab rear fits adults without kneecap negotiations; ISOFIX and top-tethers are ready for the kid seats.

Road noise is well-muted for a ute, and the chunky controls are usable with gloves—because someone will still make you load mulch after lunch.

It’s not flashy, but it’s honest, durable, and the sort of cabin that shrugs off sand, snack crumbs, and the odd coffee calamity.
