is payid safe marketplace Page 80

PayID itself is generally safe — it’s just a name-for-account layer riding on your bank’s fast payment rails — but the marketplace jungle still has crocs.

The real danger is scams: fake payment screenshots, “overpayment then refund” shenanigans, or texts/emails claiming you must “upgrade PayID” and pay a fee. Funds sent by PayID are near-instant and usually irreversible, so if you ship before you see cleared money in your account, you’re donating to a stranger’s holiday fund. Only trust what your banking app confirms (not a PDF, not a photo, not a promise). For bigger buys, meet in person and confirm the transfer on the spot; for Tradingpost deals, cash or immediate cleared PayID while you both watch the screen keeps things tidy. Never share codes, and if something smells off, it is.
