isuzu d max review 2023 Page 7

Looking for the 2023 Isuzu D‑Max review? The D‑Max packs a 3.0‑litre turbo‑diesel four with around 140 kW and 450 Nm, hooked to a six‑speed manual or auto, so it hauls like a tradie on overtime. It’ll tow 3.5 tonnes braked and, depending on spec, carry roughly a tonne in the tray, which is more than the office fridge during Friday arvo snacks.

The ride is firm unladen but settles nicely with a load, the cabin is hard‑wearing rather than fancy, and you still get modern safety tech and a 5‑star ANCAP rating. Off‑road chops are legit thanks to low‑range, decent clearance and a rear diff lock on most 4x4 variants. Infotainment is straightforward with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, though the speakers won’t win The Voice. In short: tough, efficient enough, and built to cop Aussie abuse without sulking.
