isuzu dmax bluetooth problems Page 10

Bluetooth in the Isuzu D‑Max can be a bit moody, but most gremlins are fixable at home. Before you shout at the ute, check the basics.

• Delete old pairings on both the car and phone, then re‑pair as a new device (allow contacts and messages).
• Update the head unit firmware at a dealer and keep your phone OS/apps current.
• Turn off Wi‑Fi or hotspot during calls; it can clash with Bluetooth and cause dropouts.
• Disable battery savers and “optimisation” that puts Bluetooth or the phone app to sleep.
• If using Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, avoid running a separate Bluetooth call profile at the same time.
• Hard reset the unit (in settings) and check the mic isn’t blocked; try another phone to rule out compatibility quirks.

Still crackly, droppy or refusing to pair? Dealers can load newer software and diagnose mic or antenna faults, often under warranty.

If you’re using CarPlay or Android Auto, pick that for calls too—mixing profiles can confuse it faster than a sat‑nav in a tunnel.
