isuzu d'max engine light and traction control Page 5

When the Isuzu D‑Max throws the check‑engine light and the traction‑control lamp joins in, it’s not celebrating—it’s in self‑preservation mode. Get the fault codes read first; guessing is cheap until it isn’t, and the D‑Max will happily limp to prove the point. On these diesels, emissions and sensor gremlins are usual suspects, and the stability nanny piggybacks on the ABS, so one fault can light half the dash. Fix the root cause, clear the codes, and it’ll stop glaring at you like you’ve stolen its lunch.

• DPF regen issues or a blocked DPF; failing DPF differential pressure sensor.
• Dirty/faulty MAP or MAF sensor; intake leaks (split intercooler hose) causing under/over‑boost.
• Sticking EGR valve or clogged EGR passages.
• Wheel speed sensor fault or damaged tone ring; ABS wiring to rear axle.
• Failing brake‑light switch or low battery/alternator voltage upsetting ESC/TC.
• Steering angle sensor needing calibration after alignment or battery change.

Scan it, sort the culprit, and your dashboard can go back to minding its own business.
