isuzu mux door lock problems Page 2

If your Isuzu MU-X door locks are playing hide-and-seek, you're not alone—these SUVs can be fussy little buggers.

Usual suspects are a tired door-lock actuator (often the driver’s door first), a fractured wire in the door-jamb loom, a sticky latch, a mis-set child lock, or a Body Control Module that needs a relearn after a weak battery.

Quick checks: confirm 12 V battery health, swap the key-fob battery, check fuses, listen for the actuator’s whirr (or lack thereof), scan the BCM for codes, and gently wiggle the loom while operating the switch.

Fixes range from a latch clean-and-lube to an actuator replacement; in Australia, expect roughly AUD $250–$600 per door fitted, more with genuine parts, and potentially a cheap solder repair if the loom’s the villain—ask the dealer about software updates and warranty goodwill.

• Actuator motor failure or weak solenoid
• Broken wire in door-jamb harness causing intermittent locking
• Sticky latch/striker or misaligned rods after trim removal
• Key-fob battery flat or desynchronised; BCM relearn needed
• Water/dust ingress after off-road use
