ix1 vs ix3

Comparing the BMW ix1 and ix3 is like choosing between a sprightly city fox and a stoic woodland guardian—each has its charms and quirks.

• BMW ix1: Compact, nimble, with a smaller electric range hovering around 313 km, making it ideal for urban escapades. Its price new starts around $70,000 AUD, with used models trickling down from there. Pros include a zippier feel and easier parking; cons are the limited range and less cargo space.
• BMW ix3: Larger, more SUV-like, boasting a heftier battery that stretches to approximately 460 km on a single charge. New models typically start near $85,000 AUD. Pros are the spacious interior and longer range; cons include a heftier price tag and a bulkier footprint in tight city streets.

Both models flaunt BMW's slick tech and premium trimmings. Your choice boils down to whether you fancy darting about town or venturing further afield without sweating about charging. For more details and current prices, check listings on Tradingpost and CarShowroom.
